An executioner is a person who will carry out the death sentence of a convicted individual. Executioners during the middle ages were often men who would use a sharp weapon for the kill. Executioners were in charge of hangings and the guillotine. We still have executioners today at some prisons. These individuals help set up the gas chamber or whatever means of execution is legal in the state. Executioners in the olden days were usually shunned by society. They were not seen as family men or even someone to know well.

Dressing up as Executioner

An executioner costume will normally be made from a black cloth material. The main part of the costume will be a black robe. Since executioners are typically from the middle ages, you can also expect most costumes to come with some type of fake armor like chainmail. You can purchase the weapons separate from the costume. The executioner costume will also have a hood to cover the face. Most executioner costumes are in adult sizes, but you also have children’s sizes in certain styles.
