About Duck
A duck is a type of bird in the Anatidae family. There are a number of species of ducks in the world. Ducks have the ability to fly, but quite often we see them floating along in rivers or lakes. They have webbed feet that enable them to swim as well as dive for food. Ducks tend to eat grasses, plants, fish, insects, small amphibians, worms, and molluscs. They can swim deep underwater for their food. Their snouts are pointed which enables them to dig when needed. Ducklings are baby ducks. Most ducks tend to stay together until the males fly off to be with a different family of ducks. Ducks do tend to fly south for the winter in cooler climes.
Dressing up as Ducks
Duck costumes are quite popular as children costumes. There are a number of choices in materials such as bunting and plush fabrics. Most duck costumes are yellow, but a duck can be brown, white, or a mixture of beautiful colors, thus so can the costumes. The feet of the costume will be covered with material in a web feet design. The costumes usually do not have hand coverings. To complete the costume is a hood, which ties under the chin. The hood has the duck bill in orange to sit over the forehead.
