The small, yet delicious desert (an occassional breakfast item), the donut has found itself spelled many different ways, with the abbreviated form becoming the most popular. Its original spelling "doughnut" aptly describes it as a small lump of dough that can be baked in an oven or deep fried. A sweet treat, there are filled donuts which house a filling of cream, custard, or jelly in the middle and can be topped with a bit of icing or powdered sugar. The most popular image of a donut, however, is a ring of fried dough topped with a sugar glaze, flavored and/or colored icing, with sprinkles or decorations on top. Some of the most well-known donut manufacturers in the United States include Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme donuts.

Dressing up as a Donut

Dress up as a donut, or declare your love for the diminuitive desert with donut-themed costumes and accessories. A walking donut costume is available in adult sizes featuring a round, step-in donut to be worn over a shirt and pants, decorated with frosting and rainbow sprinkles. Top it off with the included Police hat for a comical costume... Although your city's finest may not find it as funny!
