About Donkey

A donkey is a land mammal, which closely resembles a horse. However, donkeys tend to be more squat, rounder in the middle, and slower moving. A burro is another name for a donkey. When someone says “donkey” most of us immediately begin to think about Donkey from Shrek. Donkey is a bit of an annoying character played by Eddie Murphy in the three films. Donkey meets up with Shrek and decides he wants to go with Shrek on the rescue mission for the Princess. In the next film Donkey is a little miffed when Puss n Boots comes on the scene. The three set off together to help Shrek win back his princess. During the escapade Donkey becomes a horse with a bit of an attention span disorder.

Dressing up as Donkey

Donkey from Shrek is going to be gray. So you will need a gray jump suit with four hooves, and a tail. Most donkey costumes will also come with the overhead mask. This mask is in the shape of a donkey’s head, with the mouth slightly open to help you see. It will have pointed ears on the top with a tuft of hair. Famous Donkey’s like the one from Shrek or Eeyore are often wonderful children’s costumes.
