About Disney Prince Charming

Prince Charming is found in a number of Disney films based on the fairy tales of older times. While the Prince is not often recognized as Prince Charming in the Disney films, but rather as the Prince or by name, he first appeared in Snow White. The character of Prince Charming is often oblivious of the danger that is going to occur, but rushes to save the princess as trouble befalls her. He is the hero of the film. The character of Prince Charming has not always been seen in a good light. The makers of Shrek 2 turned Prince Charming into a snivelling prince needing his mother the fairy godmother to win the princess. The name of Prince Charming is an adaptation as it was not used in Charles Perrault’s versions of the fairy tales. In fact it is actually dates back to the Picture of Dorian Gray a novel by Oscar Wilde published in 1890. We still refer to Prince Charming mostly in the Cinderella tales.

Dressing up as Disney Prince Charming

To dress up as Disney Prince Charming you must first decide which film character you would like to be. As you learned in the About Prince Charming Snow White and Cinderella’s princes are most commonly referred to as Prince Charming. Prince Charming can also be Phillip from Sleeping Beauty. Once you have decided which character will be your prince charming you can either find costumes online or create your own. If you are on a budget don’t worry as there are plenty of costumes to choose from within your range.
