About Dino

An abbreviated slang for "dinosaur," Dino is also the shortened name for The Flintstones pet brontosaurus. (Sometimes, on the show, Dino's particular breed of pink dinosaur is referred to as the made-up species, "Snorkosaurus.") Although Dino's a dinosaur, he seems much more dog-like, barking happily and licking his owner Fred Flintstone's face when he comes home from the gravel pit. In some episodes, Dino can talk and often helps around the house. However, this was retconned and Dino went back to being more of a pet-like part of the Flintstone family. While Dino is Fred's best friend, he also is very playful with Pebbles and Bam Bam.
