About Deer

One of the most gentle creatures on Earth, deer are four-legged, cloven hoofed mammals that live in heavily wooded areas, although the Red Deer is a species native to Africa. They're typically seen as elegant and graceful animals that move swiftly on their long, spindly legs. The males of the species have horns that protrude from their foreheads called antlers and shed and grow a new pair each year. A male deer is known as a "buck", while the female is referred to as a "doe."
