Crabs are crustaceans that live in the bottom of oceans. Some crabs will actually walk on sandy beaches, but for the most part they tend to stay underwater. Crabs are very active, and they will communicate with their pincers by waving or drumming. They can be very aggressive if stirred, especially the males. The males tend to fight against each other to get the attention of the females. They live in rocky seashores, caves, and crevices. Alaskan King Crab tend to be the deepest travellers in the ocean. Crabs are omnivores eating algae, molluscs, worms, and other crustaceans.

Dressing up as Crab

Crabs are red so most costumes you find will be red. There are several different ways to create a crab. You can have a hat with a crab or a full costume. A crab costume will have the main pincers and then their feet. There is typically a head to go with the costume. The costumes are made for adults and children. The materials used can be velvet, polyester, or plush. If you want to be a crab don’t forget a lobster.
