About the Corpse Bride

The title character of Tim Burton's stop-motion animated film, Emily The Corpse Bride was once a vivacious young woman who was murdered by her deceptive fiance and unceremoniously buried in the woods on what was to be her wedding day. Enter the handsome, young Victor, plagued by wedding jitters who calms his nerves by reciting vows in the forrest, awakening the Corpse Bride who shows him the wonders of life among the undead... Who are surprisingly more alive than the stuffy Victorians who still possess a pulse!

Dressing up as the Corpse Bride

Fun, funny, beautiful, kind... And dead. That pretty much sums up Emily, the Corpse Bride. Awaken your "spirited" side with a Corpse Bride costume, complete with a decayed wedding dress, frayed and tinted with black at its edges and its train or that freshly-dug look. Attached to the bodice of the dress is an applique that resembles "ribs" poking through a faux hole in the garment. Also included is a bouquet of "undead" flowers and a long, grimy veil with similarly wilted faux flowers. Top it off with a long, matted blue Corpse Bride wig.

For a fun prop, pick up a stuffed toy worm to act as Emily's eye-socket residing companion, Maggot.
