About Confederate

A confederate is someone who belonged to the confederate army during 1861 to 1865. The confederate army was comprised mostly of southern states, who did not wish to join the Union. Confederates fought against the union army. Two of the most well known confederates were President Jefferson Davis and General Samuel Cooper. There were about 500,000 to 2,000,000 in the army at any given time as the fighting was going on.

Dressing up as Confederate

Confederate costumes are based on the civil war industry. Most civil war costumes are grey with grey knit pants, and uniform jackets. The uniform jackets have yellow caps, with a yellow sash. To complete the costume you will need a fake sword. You will also need a Confederate Kepi or Confederate Officer Hat. Make sure if you have a confederate soldier you also have a union soldier!
