About Conan the Barbarian

Conan is a fictional person created for books, comics, and movies. The most famous Conan the Barbarian was Arnold Swarzenegger. The films he starred in were loosely based on the Robert E. Howard stories. The tales include swords and sorcery with a lot of magic, monsters, and other fantasy events. The idea of the character was to have a hero based in earlier times. One who could use a sword to strike evil down. The first film was based on genocide of an evil warlord. Conan had to ride to the rescue in order to save the princess who was captured by Thulsa Doom.

Dressing up as Conan the Barbarian

The character had very little to wear in the film. Thus your costume will be a pair of leather or faux leather shorts. They can also be plush like animal skin. The shorts need to be dark brown, with a large metal belt. For your feet you would need faux animal skin boots about mid calf in height. A sword, and arm armor would also need to be included. You might have a Viking helmet for head protection.
