About Clockwork Orange

Based on the 1962 novel by Anthony Burgess, "A Clockwork Orange" was made into a film of the same name by legendary director, Stanley Kubrick in 1971, starring Malcolm McDowell. The story follows a young British street gang member (or "droog", as termed in this futuristic society), Alex, who enjoys engaging in acts of "ultraviolence" coupled with "a little bit of the ol' Ludwig Von". When Alex is imprisoned for his crimes, he's "rehabilitated" with a new method of treatment that makes him physically ill when he hears certain music or associates with violence. Alex then finds himself victimized by his former victims and contemplates if he has profoundly changed... Or if his darker nature remains intact in spite of his reprogramming. You'll never hear "Singin' in the Rain" in quite the same way after seeing "A Clockwork Orange."

Dressing up as A Clockwork Orange

Fancy a little bit of the ol' Ludwig Von with your ultraviolence? Drink up your milk, me droog, and outfit yourself in the fashion of Alex and his gang of futuristic dandies with a costume inspired by "A Clockwork Orange." Put on a black bowler hat and a single false eyelash on one eye, layered across your bottom lid. Put on a pair of long underwear, a white long-sleeved dress shirt, and a jock strap with suspenders. Don't forget to carry a cane to add the perfect finishing touch to your costume.
