About Chipmunk
There are a couple of ways to describe Chipmunks. First a chipmunk is a rodent in North America, as well as some in Eurasia. They are much like a squirrel in that they are small rodents, and tan in color. The chipmunk is usually smaller than a squirrel with a thinner tail. On their back there is usually a white and black stripe, but this can be tan and white also. Another type of chipmunk is Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Disney characters Chip and Dale. Alvin and the Chipmunks are singing chipmunks that live with a human. They dress in shirts, shoes, and hats. The Disney characters have also been humanized with clothing and they tend to get into trouble with Donald Duck in the cartoons. Chipmunk costumes have also been used a lot as mascots for sports teams.
Dressing as a Chipmunk
To dress up as a chipmunk you must first decide what chipmunk you want to be. If you want to be the rodent then you have a fairly easy costume that will be tan with a white belly, and tale. The costume typically has a full chipmunk head with places for the eyes to see out of. Alvin and the Chipmunks may take a little more in that they have shirts, shoes, and occasionally hats. Lastly Disney or Chip and Dale costumes will further change the accessories you might have for the costume. Most of the chipmunk costumes are made from a thick cotton or fleece like material to keep you warm and comfortable.
