About Chimpanzee

Chimpanzee is a species related to apes. In fact they are considered an extant species of the ape and in the genus Pan. There are two types of Chimpanzee the common and the Bonobo. Bonobo Chimpanzees are pygmy or Bonzi chimps that live in the Congo. Almost all Chimpanzees live in Western or Central Africa. Some believe that chimps split from human evolution 6 million years ago, which is why they are so closely related to humans in DNA structure. Male chimps can reach up to five feet six inches in height and weigh 154 pounds. Their legs and arms are very powerful allowing them to swing through trees or even climb the trees. They also used clenched fists for knuckle walking. The eyes tend to recede into the forehead, so that the forehead is predominant. Most chimps are covered in hair, except around the nose. They tend to be black or brown in color. An attribute of the chimps is their intelligence they can be taught sign language, to paint, and other simple tasks.

Dressing up as Chimpanzee

Film and books have anthropomorphized chimpanzee so that we have chimps like those in Planet of the Apes and other movies for costumes. The chimpanzee costume will be a full body suit of brown, black or tan. The suit comes with feet and a matching hood. The hood will have chimp like ears, but use the wearer’s face for the chimp face.
