The Cheshire Cat has a large grin, but more than anything he can be quite confusing. He is a trickster, leading Alice through the land rather than helping her directly. The name of the cat came from a Cheese created in Cheshire. Alice first finds the cat in the Duchess’s house in the kitchen. He has a lovely philosophical discussion which is quite annoying to Alice since it does not at all answer her questions. He also appears on the Queen of Hearts Croquet field. In the film the cat disappears except for the grin.
