About Centurion

During the time of the Roman Empire the military was very strong and made up of distinct classes. A centurion was a professional officer in the Roman Army. Centurions would command 80 men, but there were also senior centurions who commanded cohorts or had senior staff roles in the legion. Centurions were named because they commanded a century. Often the centurion was chosen for size, strength and dexterity. These warriors would great with swords and their throwing weapons. Often they had the proper temperament of leadership and being vigilant. Centurions had to provide proper examples to their soldiers by strict exercise and assuring discipline.

Dressing up as Centurion

Centurions had to have a different uniform than the Roman Soldier. This uniform depicted their station as a leader of many. You have a choice in the deluxe or standard Centurion costume for both children and adults. The costume will come with a cape, boot spats, wrist guards, fake sword and shield, and the Roman style tunic. The deluxe costume also has the vinyl breastplate needed for the armor. You will have a Spartan helmet as part of the costume. The helmet is a cloth creation with a brush on the top. When you have this costume you will look as if you fit in the Coliseum.
