About Cars

Cars is one of the more recent animated films by Disney Pixar, with its release in 2006. The film went straight to DVD when it was released. The film was directed by John Lasseter and Joe Ranft with Owen Wilson, the late Paul Newman, Bonnie Hunt, Cheech Marin, Jenifer Lewis, Tony Shalhoub, John Ratzenberger, George Carlin, Larry the Cable Guy and Michael Keaton as the voices. There were also some appearances by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and other race car drivers.
The story begins with Lightning McQueen and the last Piston Cup Race. During the race Chick Hicks and Lightning McQueen fight dirty to win and there is a tie. The tie breaker for the better driver is set up for a Los Angeles International Speedway. Unfortunately Lightning McQueen somehow gets out of his truck carrying him to the race and winds up in the desert. In the desert he comes into Radiator Springs, creates some wreckage and is sentences by the court to fix the road before he can leave. It is the best thing to happen to him as he finally learns how to drive on all sorts of terrains. Cars has many friends in the movie with Lightning McQueen as the top race car.

Dressing up as Cars

In the film you have Doc Hudson, Mater and Lightning McQueen as a few of the costume choices. The Car costumes are 3-D with shoulder straps and harnesses, to keep the cars around the child’s waist. In fact many of the costumes are for children sizes only, though you can be a Race Car Driver or pit crew as an adult. The costumes will be true to the animation with the same faces and design.
