About Booberry

One of several cartoon monster breakfast cereal pitchmen for General Mills, Booberry is a pale blue ghost who wears a straw hat and bowtie as he haunts breakfast tables to peddle his delicious cereal. The character was voiced by Peter Lorre-impersonator, Paul Frees and had a creepy, otherworldly voice that imparted his love for the blueberry-flavored corn puffs and marshmallows that were a nutritous part of Booberry cereal. While fellow cereal monsters, Count Chocula and Frankenberry arrived on the grocery store scene in 1971, Boo Berry hit shelves in 1973 and has been going strong ever since.

Dressing up as Booberry

Scare up some breakfast dressed as ghostly cereal pusher Booberry with officially licensed costumes by General Mills. The Booberry costume comes complete with a one-piece, over-the-head tunic with a floating ghost's tail in pale blue. The tunic is emblazoned with a dark blue bowtie sported by Booberry and the costume also features a set of character hands in pale blue, and a matching character hood. Made of stand-up foam, the character hood is imprinted with Booberry's face and an attached printed straw hat. Grab a box of Booberry cereal as a fun prop and as something to snack on! Better yet, team up with friends dressed as Count Chocula and Frankenberry to round out the entire trio!
