About the Blues Brothers

The Blues Brothers burst upon the scene in 1978 as part of an SNL comedy sketch featuring Dan Akroyd and John Belushi as Jake and Elwood Blues, the founders of soul group, "The Blues Brothers." The stellar career of the fictional Blues Brothers was put on hold when Jake (the short one, played by Belushi) was thrown in the slammer. When he came out, however, the music and mayhem was back on! Belushi and Akroyd parlayed these two characters into a now-classic film of the same name while simultaneously singing and performing their own music, garnering a Grammy nomination.

Dressing up as the Blues Brothers

Jake and Elwood Blues are back and they're putting the band back together! Look the part of the legendary Blues Brothers with the Blues Brothers kit featuring a hat, glasses (with attached sideburns}, black pleather tie, and a toy harmonica. You can easily recreate this look on your own, too with a white button-down shirt and a black suit jacket and pants with a tie. Add a black pork pie hat and a pair of shades, and you're ready to become a true, blues "Soul Man."
