About Bloody Bones

While the name could easily be mistaken for that of a pirate, Bloody Bones is an old, Irish folk legend of a subterranean monster who rewards good children but is more than happy to drag bad children beneath street level to his lair of sewers and drainpipes, probably to eat them. Bloody Bones is also known as Old Rawhead and Bloody Bones, Tommy Rawhead, or Rawhead Rex. This legend was the basis for Clive Barker's story (which was made into a horror film), "Rawhead Rex." In the film, Rawhead was shown to be a large, demon-like creature that bore a resemblence to Pumpkinhead, only more muscular and with sharper teeth, drippier, more bloody and "raw" flesh. Yummy!

Dressing up as Bloody Bones

While no costumes currently exist to make a replica of the mythical monster known as Rawhead and Bloody Bones, you can create your own costume with a number of items. Include a monster or demon mask and add your own fake blood. Pick up a bone necklace or costume with a bloody ribcage to do the job! Carry your own (fake, of corpse!) bone and drench it in fake blood or red paint to look as if you've just come back from a fiendish feast!
