Benjamin Franklin was born in 1706 and died in 1790. If you recall from history he is one of the most important people in the history of America. He was one of the Founding Fathers of the US. Not only did he have great political influence he was also an author, painter, political theorist, inventor, scientist, statesman and diplomat. Inventions of Benjamin Franklin include the lighting rod, bifocals, stove, carriage odometer, and musical instrument. Benjamin Franklin also formed the public library system and first fire department in Pennsylvania. He had a hand in getting the Stamp Act repealed. He was also able to meet many foreign leaders such as King Louis XV. Benjamin Franklin was the inventor of the phonetic alphabet.
