About Bellatrix

Bellatrix LeStrange, one of the most evil wizards in all of Harry Potter's world, is the sister of Narcissa Malfoy and cousin to Sirius Black, Harry Potter's noble godfather. The most fiendishly devoted follower of Lord Voldemort, Bellatrix was a Death Eater who carried hope that Lord Voldemort would rise again following his first destruction at the hands of "The Boy Who Lived." When Voldemort was eventually brought back, Bellatrix and other Death Eaters broke out of Azkaban prison and sought out their leaderonce again. Bellatrix was the one responsible for Sirius Black's death in both the book and movie version of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She is played by Helena Bonham Carter.

Dressing up as Bellatrix

Get in touch with your dark side, bringing new meaning to the term "femme fatale" and dress up as Bellatrix LeStrange. You may want to wear the female Death Eater costume, which includes a long, black panne crushed velvet dress with a deep scoopneck and attached black hood. Feminine touches include a faux leather waist cincher and pleather detailing on the puffed, leg-of-mutton sleeves. The costume also comes with a Death Eater mask made of hard, dark silver grey plastic with embellished scrollwork details and a fearsome stitched mouth.

The mask is optional when dressing the part of Bellatrix. You may want to wear a long black wig in either a curly or straight style. Give your face a light layer of white cream makeup with grey shadows beneath your eyes and hollows of your cheeks for that "fresh-from-Azkaban prison" complexion. Don't forget your wand for leveling a curse at your cousin! Woo hoo!
