About Beast

The generic term "beast" can apply to any sort of animal or person with animal-like qualities or a personality. In the X-Men comic books and films, mutant scientist Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy is given the codename of Beast to reflect the pre-existing genetic condition by his x-factor gene that gives him blue fur all over his body and animal-like reflexes. Far from beastly in nature, Beast is perhaps the most rational, kind, level-headed and refined of the X-Men who is not only a scientist, but an activist for progressive relations between mankind and mutantkind.

Beast can also refer to the character in the film and fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast. In the fable, the Beast is actually a handsome prince cursed by a witch to remain in an upright animal form until he finds true love and his beloved grants him a kiss.

Dressing up as Beast

Dress up as one of the original X-Men, Beast with an officially licensed Beast mask made of blue latex with sculpted hair and depicting Beast in mid-snarl as he prepares to spring into battle alongside his mutant bretheren. Also available is a children's Beast costume with built-in muscle padding with Beast's muscular blue chest busting through his black-and-yellow X-Men uniform. Also included are a pair of blue boot covers.

A deluxe mascot-style costume based on Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast is available in an elaborate style that includes a soft, plush mask of the Beast's large head and a bodysuit that includes the Beast's evening attire including faux fur legs, a ruffled shirt with a satin jacket over it and a long, purple cape lined in gold, decked out and ready to accompany his Belle anywhere!
