About Bear

Bears are mammals which live in North America among other places in the world. They are part of the Ursidae family. Bears are carnivores. There are currently eight species of bears in the world. The most popular type of bear is the grizzly in the US. We all tend to know about them and their ability to grow over 10 feet in height when standing. The Grizzly are also known for the Alaskan Salmon run in which they sit at the rivers of Alaska waiting for the Salmon to come to them. Bears hibernate during the winter months, often having their young during that period. The next most popular bear is the black bear. They are smaller, but also very prevalent in the west and Alaska. Bears we do not see unless in a zoo include polar bears. They spend their lives in the arctic feeding on seals and sea lions. Bears have stocky legs, long snouts, hair, and large paws with five claws. They also have short tails. The Giant Panda is another favorite of humans due to their cute looks.

Dressing up as Bear

You have a range of choices when it comes to dressing up as a bear. There are children and adult costumes available. The most popular bear is Winnie the Pooh. Winnie the Pooh is a yellow bear with a red shirt who loves honey. Therefore the costume will reflect a bear jumpsuit in yellow with the red shirt, and full hood for the head. You may even get a honey pot depending on your choice in costumes. Bart the Bear is another popular costume. This costume is a brown plush jumpsuit complete with mask. The mask is a full head with bear ears, muzzle, and eyes. For children the costumes may have a hood that leaves the face exposed. In this case the muzzle, ears and eyes sit above the forehead.
