About Bat
A bat is a nocturnal animal, which can fly. There are several different types of bats around the world. They are warm blooded animals making them mammals. They have forelimbs with wings, and short legs. The short legs are used to hang upside down from trees, rocks, and other objects. They can use their feet and forelimbs to crawl along rock as well. Typically the bat will fly at night searching for prey to eat. During the day they stay in caves where it is cool and dark. Some bats eat fruit and vegetables, while others are carnivorous. There are about 1,100 different species of bats. The nose of the bat is elongated for those who eat fruit and nectar to help them dig it out of the plants. Bats also have ears, which can vary from rather large to proportionate for their bodies. Bats are relatively small creatures. They use echolocation in order to glide through the night pinging different objects in order to see. For this reason bats have been studied by governments for sonar purposes.
Dressing up as Bat
The bat costume can vary depending on your needs. Batman is perhaps the most well known bat costume. For the animal there are also plush bat costumes. These costumes offer a black suit, with gray stomach. Then the arms have long sleeves with wings hanging from them. To complete the costume there is usually a hood with bat ears on the top allowing the face of the wearer to be uncovered. Bat costumes come in a range of sizes and costs to meet everyone’s needs.
