About the Barber of Severe

One of the many epithets given to Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, the Barber of Severe is a play on the operetta, "The Barber of Seville." Severe is a fitting term, however to gift Sweeney Todd with, however, considering how he ruthlessly slayed customers with the tools of his trade, handing them off to his friend/landlady {Mrs. Lovett} to make into meat pies in Victorian London.
