About Barack Obama

Born on August 4, 1961 Barack Obama is the 2008 Democratic Presidential candidate, a Senator for the state of Illinois, and the first black man to gain his party's nomination for the Presidency. He has also served as a lawyer, community organizer, and taught consitutional law at the University of Chicago, as well as publishing two books. Having come from relatively humble beginnings and ascending to a position of prominence, Obama has positioned himself as the candidate for change in the presidential election.
