About Bandit

A bandit is often referred to as an outlaw. Both terms mean a person who has or is living a lifestyle outside the law. The term outlaw and bandit was most commonly used prior to the 20th century. Despite calling individuals thieves, robbers, or criminals today the same type of behavior is typical. Western movies are most common for providing us a view of bandits. John Wayne hunted a few in his movies as did Jimmy Stewart. In 2001, Bandits, a film was released. It starred Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Cate Blanchett. The two men were bank robbers, who managed to fall in love with the same woman, who was on the run from a thankless marriage.

Dressing up as Bandit

Bandit costumes will vary depending on the era you choose from. A Zorro costume could be considered a bandit since the story tells of a man who lived outside the law to bring justice. For a Zorro costume you would need black pants with a Spanish black shirt. The costume also requires a black handkerchief with two eye holes, a sombrero, sword, and black riding boots. For a different western costume jeans, a western shirt, cowboy hat, riding boots, and a whip would be needed. Do not forget La Bandida to accompany you. This outfit requires a short revealing black skirt, peasant blouse or halter top, cape, cowboy hat, and riding boots.
