In the Disney animated film, "Sleeping Beauty," the resting royalty in question was named Princess Aurora. Cursed by the evil fairy Maleficent, Aurora was prophesized to have pricked her finger on a spindle and fdie. Softening the blow of the curse, her three Fairy Godmothers worked some last-minute mojo and arranged so that Aurora would not die, but merely fall into a deep sleep that could only be broken by love's first kiss.
Dressing up as Aurora
Sleeping Beauties of all ages can get dressed up as Aurora with officially licensed Disney costumes. Regardless of size or age, each Aurora costume comes true to the princess' beautiful pink ballgown that she wore on her sixteenth birthday with a flowing ballgown skirt, fitted bodice and long sleeves with off-the-shoulder styling.
