In J.R.R. Tolkien's trilogy, "The Lord of the Rings," Arwen Undómiel is a beautiful Elven princess and the daughter of Elrond, the Lord of Rivendell, one of the Elvish kingdoms. She was in love with the human Aragorn, who would later become the King of Gondor, as his ancestors had been. In the film version of "Lord of the Rings," Arwen is played by actress Liv Tyler and has a larger somewhat larger role than she does in the books. Initially, she's a warrior who saves Frodo and Aragorn with her ancestor's sword. Like in the novels, she does gift Aragorn with a promisory necklace, the Evenstar, which is a symbol of her enduring love for the human.

Dressing up as Arwen

Available in women's and children's sizes are officially licensed Lord of the Rings costumed based on the character of Arwen. Start with a long, brown flowing wig with gently curled synthetic hair. A number of options for gowns are available, including a beautiful mint green dress with matching lace at the neckline and sleeves, terminating in flowing bell sleeves at the cuffs. The costume also comes with an elegant elven crown in silver that shimmers nicely against the dark hue of the Arwen wig. Also available is a white gown trimmed in silver, which goes perfectly with the hooded Arwen cloak, or choose a dramatic black and red gown with gold accented bands on the long, bell sleeves and gold at the dress's neckline.
