About Army

Army is a military branch and perhaps the most non- descript word applied to armed forces. Army has been a term applied to many nations as far back as Sparta. Today when we think of Army we think about the US military branch which provides land troops in a time of war. This branch of the military began in 1775 like many of the other branches. Their motto is “This We’ll Defend.” Their colors are Black and Gold. The army has been very helpful in times of war and consists of the Army National Guard and US Army Reserve when needed. The military has a branch for every type of support needed in type of war or country occupation. As mentioned the Army is a land based team. They are typically sent in to make sure that peace remains in the country, as well as to fight battles head on. The Navy Seals or Army Rangers are more for the covert operations. Army Rangers are well trained in tracking and for sniper duties.

Dressing up as Army

Like all branches of the military, the Army has uniforms that they wear. These uniforms can make great costumes. Fatigues are the everyday wear, which are camouflage pants, jacket, with a tee shirt. Depending on where the personnel are going the fatigues can be a tan or green. The sand color is for desert work. In any case the costume is meant to help a person blend. Don’t forget the combat boots, dog tags, and hat. You may also elect to dress in Army dress uniforms, which are a non- combat attire. The Navy or Marine can provide additional costumes if you have a group of people. Children are usually very interested in the Army costumes or other military, but there are plenty for adults as well.
