About Anime

Anime began in the 20th century around 1970. Japanese filmmakers began to experiment with computer programs to see what they might be able to do with cartoons. This led to the animation of many popular comics. The genre of Mecha began in western cultures as well in the 1970’s. To very notable anime directors are Hayao Miyazaki and Mamoru Oshii. The industry in Japan didn’t have a huge amount of budget for live action filming, which made anime all the more popular. In the 1980’s anime began to increase even more in Japan and many of the series were eventually created for western cultures like the US. Gundam was one of the first anime in Japan to boom in the US as was Rumiko Takahaski’s career. Akira was another that hit the big time on the screen and television. Now from Japan we have the series of Anima about 2 years after its release in Japan. Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, the Gundam series, Robotech, Neon Genesis, and hundreds of others are very popular. There are also the movies such as Spirited Away and Ghost in the Shell which have earned high rewards.

Dressing up as Anime

The costume you choose will depend on which anime series you love the most. Yu-Gi-Oh is extremely popular in the US and one of the main costumes you will find online. The costumes fit within a budget, as well as, for children and adults. You have full costumes such as Pikachu or the shaman king. You can also get accessories for the costumes like weapons, medallions, or ninja headbands. Dressing up as anime does take some considerable thought, since you have Naruto, Sasuke, Pokemon and other anime to choose from.
