| Being Alice in Wonderland The most critical part of an Alice in Wonderland costume is of course the dress. You must wear a blue dress with a white apron and a blonde wig on.
To do it right, either buy an Alice in Wonderland costume or make the dress yourself and make things really exaggerated. Like wear really clunky shoes or have very a very thick long wig. Having fake eye lashes and pink cheeks would work ... read more »
| How to be Alice in Wonderland To become Alice in wonderland, put on a blue dress with a white ruffled apron. Be sickening sweet and polite. Do little courtesy bows while holding on to your dress. Serve little cookies on a silver tray. Open the door to your guests and say curiouser and curiouser. If you need to take a breather or run to the bathroom, tell your guests you need to go find that darn white rabbit. read more » | |

| The NEW Mad HatterContest Entry My Costume is the Mad Hatter which is inspired from Tim Burtons new movie "Alice in Wonderland" coming out in 2010. I love the twist that Tim puts on all his characters that he uses in his films, which is one of the reasons I chose to model my costume after his version of the Mad Hatter. My wife and I made the entire costume ourselves.
Materials Used: clothes and shoes from the thrift ... read more »
| Mad HatterContest Entry This costume is based off of the Mad Hatter from American McGee's: Alice. I made the hat, mask, and vest on my own. The spats and pants were bought at a thrift store and costume shop. I've always loved the style of the game, and thought instead of the typical Mad Hatter that everybody does, I'd go with this instead. read more » | |
| Alice and the Mad HatterContest Entry I was Alice and my husband is the Mad Hatter. We both made the costumes. We were inspired by the Tom Petty video for Don't Come Around Here No More. comment » | |

About "Alice In Wonderland"
In 1865, Lewis Carroll wrote "Alice In Wonderland," a fanciful tale of a young girl who falls "through the looking glass" and winds up in a bizarre world on the other side populated by Mad Hatters, talking Cheshire Cats, hookah-smoking caterpillars, and other interesting creatures.
In 1951, Walt Disney released an animated film based on Lewis Carroll's work, and gave popular culture its most recognizable vision of Alice with blond hair and a blue and white pinafore dress. The film depicted Wonderland in vivid color bringing all of Carroll's whimsy to life for a broader scale audience. In 2010, director Tim Burton plans to release his own full-length, live-action version of "Alice In Wonderland" starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts.
Dressing as "Alice In Wonderland"
Several costumes depicting Alice are available to fit both children and adults. Styled with Alice's blue dress with pretty white pinafore, there are age-appropriate costumes for children and several short, sexy, flouncy versions of Alice's attire suitable for costumes for adults.
As populated as Wonderland is with so many crazy characters, there are just as many costumes that allow you to dress as twin dunderheads Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum (makes a great couples costume!); different styles of Queen of Hearts costumes, the wildly grinning purple Cheshire Cat, and several large, oversized hats perfect for dressing as the Mad Hatter!
