About Albert Einstein

There is only one name that is synonymous with the word genius- Albert Einstein. Nobel prize-winning theoretical physicist Albert Einstein was born in Germany in 1879. Best known for his Theory of Relativity (simplified to E=MC2), Einstein produced over fifty scientific papers in his lifetime, all of which are still highly regarded by physicists today. As a German-born Jew, Einstein fled to the United States shortly before Nazi occupation. During the war, in the United States, Einstein recommended European Jews for U.S. Visas from Congress. His humanitarian efforts were also focused on easing relationships with the Soviet Union during the Cold War era, the civil rights movement, and was a lobbyist to end the testing and detonation of nuclear bombs. Albert Einstein died in 1955 of an aneurism, but his complete life’s work, within the field of physics and in his personal pursuits, caused Time magazine to declare him "Person of the Century" in 1999.
