In 1984, Wes Craven created a monster in the form of child murderer, Freddy Krueger. Krueger -- "The Bastard Son of 1,000 Maniacs" -- terrorized the children of Elm Street before vigilante parents burned him alive since "the system" allowed him to go free. Things just got worse when Freddy morphed into a demonic and deep-fried being who could invade the dreams of the Elm St. kids and murder them in their sleep in grisly ways. As the series progressed, Freddy became quite the cut-up, a unique villain that set the standard making humorous quips as he slayed his victims. Freddy Krueger was originally played by Robert Englund for eight movies, including "Freddy vs. Jason". In the 2010 remake of the series, Jackie Earle Haley (who played Watchmen's Rorschach) will step into the iconic role.

Be the life -- and death! -- orf the party with a Freddy Krueger costume.
