About 101 Dalmatians

In 1996 Disney created a live action film called 101 Dalmatians. This film starred Glenn Close Cruella de Vil. Jack Daniels was Roger the owner of the 101 Dalmatians. The film was based on the 1956 book and an earlier Disney film. In 1961 Walt Disney created an animated 101 Dalmatians. The story begins with Pongo and Perdita having 99 puppies. In the live action film all dogs were played by Dalmatians. {102 Dalmatians} came out in 2000 as a sequel to the 1996 version. The plot of the movie is that Roger is a computer game designer. He lives in London with Pongo, and then one day Pongo meets Perdy. Perdy’s owner Anita Campbell Green falls for Roger. They become a couple. Anita is a designer so she decides to make a coat based on the Dalmatian fur. However, Cruella upon seeing the coat decides she needs to make fur coats out of real Dalmatian fur thus she tries to buy the 99 puppies only to be turned down. She then gets her henchmen Jasper and Horace to steal the puppies.

Dressing up as 101 Dalmatians

A Dalmatian has white fur with black spots which gives rise to the costumes one can get from the movie. There is of course Pongo and Perdy which make a great couples costume. Then there are their 99 puppies. Each puppy tends to have a distinctive mark or dog tag to help tell them apart, so you would want this for your costume. The costumes come in both children and adult sizes. It starts with a jumpsuit in plush with hands and feet covered. The jumpsuit is the white with black spots of all Dalmatians. The head of the costume can vary between the sizes. There are costumes with a full helmet with dog face, ears, and eyes. The other costumes have a hood leaving the face exposed, but having the dog muzzle, ears, and eyes on the top of the head. Don’t forget Cruella costumes.
