Nottingham: A new version of the Robin Hood tale!
Are you ready for a fresh take on the classic Robin Hood tale? Well, you may have to wait until 2011 for Nottingham. In this new film, Oscar winner Russell Crowe teams up once again with his Gladiator director, Ridley Scott. Crowe will be tackling a dual role as both the Sheriff of Nottingham and his nemesis, Robin Hood. The twist on this film is that the roles (pardon the pun) are reversed. While Robin Hood has always been the hero of this tale, Scott’s new film portrays Robin as the villain and the Sheriff of Nottingham as a noble, valiant man.
Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin in March 2009 and the film is slated with a tentative release date of November 6, 2001. In addition to Russell Crowe, actress Sienna Miller has been confirmed as a member of the cast, playing the role of Maid Marion, the woman involved in the love triangle with Nottingham and Robin Hood.
Start planning for 2011 now with Robin Hood and Maid Marion costumes! While the look for Ridley Scott’s vision of the Sheriff of Nottingham has yet to be unveiled, you can look to Alan Rickman’s portrayal of the leather-clad law man from the Kevin Costner film, Robin Hood: Prince of Theives for inspiration!
