Marilyn Monroe Costumes Auction – part 2

>Earlier in the year, the sale of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic subway dress from The Seven Year Itch fetched $5.52 million.

What will be auctioned?

– From Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is Monroe’s ‚ÄúLorelei Lee‚Äù aubergine gray evening dress and Bolero jacket by William Travilla.

РAlso designed by Travilla is the signature green and black-sequined brief showgirl leotard for Marilyn’s character “Cherie” in Bus Stop

– From Niagara is the light aqua suit designed by Dorothy Jeakins for her character ‚ÄúRose Loomis.”

– Also by Dorothy Jeakins is Marilyn’s ‚ÄúAmanda Dell‚Äù strapless pale green pleated silk Empire gown with rhinestone trim for Let‚Äôs Make Love

The dresses are expected to fetch up $200,000 – $300,000, but you never know and we could see another 7 digit number.

The Debbie Reynolds auction will take place December 3rd at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.
