The creative, criminally-minded choreographers at Orlando-based “nerdy burlesque” troupe Skill Focus built one of their recent shows around the inmates of Arkham Asylum. Judging by the mugshots, Batman may have captured them and returned them to the loony bin. But judging by the photos of the show, he didn’t get there before a whole lot of clothes came off. Now details are emerging about this 'surreal' cosplay.

WEAPONRY Le built a replica of the machine gun on the suit’s shoulder out of PVC pipes and other materials. He added a small motor and belt drive to make the cylindrical gun spin like the real thing. To activate it, he presses a button in the palm of the suit’s glove. He says the gun could also be converted into a paintball shooter.

Seattle's masked superhero crime fighter "Phoenix Jones" is now fighting an assault charge for allegedly spraying pepper spray on people who he claims were fighting. Seattle police claim the people were dancing.

Maybe people dance like the fight or fight like they dance in Seattle, which would explain how Super Hero Phoenix Jones got confused on the matter...

Wonder Woman has one of the most iconic superhero looks, from the 1940s to today. But lately, people seem to struggle with it. They keep trying to redesign her comics costume, and her TV costume never quite worked. And meanwhile, everybody's trying to imagine Christina Hendricks, the rumored movie Diana, in the costume.

We like this a lot.

Oh yeah the Captain America costume will be a popular one this Halloween 2011, no doubt. In this picture, Gwen Stefani's son "Zuma" (yes, Zuma is his name...!) perfectly wears a captain America costume while out and about (getting a manicure... yes a manicure!) and looks really cute in it!

Two new pictures of Henry Cavill in his Superman costume recently appeared online. In one of the two shots, you can clearly see how long the cape is and on the other one, it reveals the already-know snake like costume material of the costume.

Interesting perspective

For one thing, look at the costume itself. Superman was created to embody the characteristics of a classic superhero – incorruptible, fighting against evil, and protecting the innocent. Someone who trumpets those ideals needs to trumpet them loudly. That’s why the costume was designed to be so bright and colorful. Jerry Siegel was even quoted as saying “[let’s] make him as colorful as we can and as distinctive as we can,” with regards to the costume. With that in mind, looking at Singer, and now Snyder’s interpretations of Superman, you can already deem them both failures. Sure, some may say clothes don’t make the man, but with someone as iconic as Superman, there’s just no room for artistic interpretation.

This is a valid point, I tend to agree.

IMO - the snakeskin material, the "bad dude" look will attract more of the most needed movie audience: women.

It seems to have been a Superhero fashion show this week with official sneak peaks at Henry Cavill’s Man Of Steel and Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman, and there’s also been some looks recently at on-set photos of Thomas Hardy’s Bane, more deatiled shots of Spidey’s new pajamas and souped up duds for Thor and Captain America in The Avengers trailer. About Captain America's costume...

It was evolved over several months. The details were changed many times so maybe the final result – because he’s wearing the boots – suggests that but they were also changed into a slightly different variation. I think that the challenge of this costume was that it had to look 40s, that’s why certain elements like using leather for the straps and belt, metal buckles and not having too tight a fit were important. Forget spandex!

While I personally thought that the second Iron Man pretty much sucked, that doesn’t mean some cool stuff didn’t come out of the movie. And I’m strictly referring to cosplay here folks. While I feel the movie fell short in so many ways it’s not even worth talking about, there were some pretty awesome get ups at comic and gaming conventions that warrant a nod. Check out the project after the jump….. But anyhow, Paul should definitely forbid that opinions about movies other than his own are published here. Otherwise this is way to confusing…

Great group costume idea for Halloween!

Iron Man 2 is nearing theatres. In fact we have less than two months until Iron Man 2 comes out on May 7, 2010. If you are looking forward to the sequel you might want to create your own Iron Man look. Not much has changed in the design of the suit since the first movie, except that there will be more than one powerful suit. If you want some instructions on how to make one you are in the right place.

Materials:

• Padding
• Red Fabric
• Gold Fabric
• Pattern
• Sewing Machine

Instructions:

Step 1: Fabric can be purchased online at a number of places, but www.joann.com is one of the most popular. It is the same online store as those brick and mortar ones you might have in your city or town. From the store you can find everything you need to create the Iron Man 2 look.

Step 2: The entire costume will be created first with red material. You will need a jumpsuit that is a little larger than your regular size, unless you already have well defined muscles. The point of making the costume a bit larger than your regular size is to help build it up. You will want padding in the arms, legs, and even the upper chest to make it more like armor than body.

Step 3: The shoulders should have extra padding to make it seem like there are layers to the costume.

Step 4: One the upper arms and legs you need a little bit of the gold material. The photo above can help you decide where that needs to go.

Step 5: You will also need to create a helmet out of the fabric you purchase. Make sure it has the right color and design, to cover your face, but leave your eyes uncovered for safety.

Step 6: The last thing you need to do is make the center of the chest. An old light or white fabric can be used to make the little round power center that is in the chest.

Make sure you have red shoes to make it appear like you are wearing boots with your Iron Man costume.

Frederick J. Dukes better known as The Blob is a super- villain from Marvel Comics. The Blob was introduced in X-Men comic number 3, which was released in 1964. The Blob like most characters in the comics is a mutant. He has a lot of pliable mass which gives him strength and gravitational pull. He is a very large bully as a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants and Freedom Force. X Men Origins Wolverine is being released in May 2009. The movie is going to bring the character of the Blob to viewers in a live action creation. The character will be portrayed by Kevin Durand. For those who wish to be a bad guy you might find the Blob is the perfect costume for you this year.

Materials Needed:

White undershirt

Black pants

Fat suit

Black Boots

Bald Cap

Instructions:

Step 1: The Blob is a mass of flesh. You have two choices in creating the Blob suit. You can purchase a fat suit or make your own. If you are going to make your own you will need flesh covered material from www.joann.com. You will also need to get cotton bunting or stuffing and a pattern. The suit should be four times too large for you because inside you are going to stuff it with the bunting and then close it off so the stuffing will not fall out. You should increase the size of your neck, arms, hands, and legs. You may opt out of making the suit fall below your ankles. However, you can also make enlarged feet to fit the overall picture. This will give you a basic blob like appearance.

Step 2: Once the suit has been created you will need to dress it. The top portion of the costume is a white undershirt. It should be just a little small so that it rides up the belly.

Step 3: The pants you choose can be knit or cotton. They should be black, and large enough to fit over the suit without trouble.

Step 4: The boots need to be combat boots in style. Depending on how you have made the suit you may elect to wear boots you have or you can try and find shoes that would fit the blob body you create.

Step 5: The Blob is bald, therefore you need a skull cap which will cover your hair giving you the right look.

A batman costume is always a perfect choice for Halloween or costume parties. Since the creation of the comics Batman has been a popular hero. The concept of the comics have been made and remade with directors creating them in movies. It seems like every two decades a new batman is being given to us. Batman: Arkham Asylum is the latest in the Batman video games. It will be released on August 25th, 2009 for PlayStation 2 consoles and for computers.

What makes this video game something to pay attention to is the new line of toys you will be able to use as the player of the game. Not only that, but you can recreate some of these top toys for your Batman costume. In the video game Batman must deliver the Joker to the asylum. At this asylum are many super villains of the past that Batman has had to deal with. Unfortunately unknown to Batman the villains have created a trap.

As the game unfolds so does the combat you will be up against as the main player. You might even find the recreation of the Joker costume in the video game is something worth recreating if you host a Batman costume party. With the top villain costumes in play you really cannot ask for much more. The script of the game was written by Paul Dini and of course the graphics bring DC Comics to life yet again. So if you are a Batman fan this might just be a game to purchase. If you have children they may find it equally interesting. All the top players will be back to give you a challenge.

The best part is you do not have to play just Batman, you can also play the Jokerif you want!

Hair: I have long blond hair, so I actually used my own hair to make the Poison Ivy "cones". I made 2 small pony tails where I wanted the cones (each using about 25% of my hair). I took 2 pipe cleaners - one for each pony - and tucked the ends into the rubber band so it looked like I had 2 loops on the top of my head. Then I hairsprayed my hair and wrapped it around the loops, bobby pinned and tons more spray. Once it felt secure, I sprayed my whole head with a can of red hair spray.

Clothes: - Plain white bustier without external ribbing (I think this was from Victoria's secret, but most department stores also have them) - Plain white "cheerleading" undies (ordered these online. - green fabric dye I then dyed both pieces green so they would match

Accessories: - GLOVES: (if you can find green buy them!) I tried dying white gloves, but unless you can find some cotton gloves the polyester fabric will not take dye - it's actually quite amazing. I resorted to green fabric paint on white gloves and then painted red finger nails onto the gloves. - BOOTS: I bought the cheapest thigh high boots I could find in white or a light color. I then bought white thigh high tights and dyed them the same green as the busier and bottoms. I pulled the stockings OVER the boots and let the boot heels poke through the tights. This gave the boots a green color without actually dying the boots. - IVY: buy a fake ivy plant. Rip off the leaves and attach to strategic places on your costume for flair. I also used 2 leaves to put in my hair. - MAKE-UP: red lipstick, then red glitter over the lipstick. Green eyelashes.

The costume instructions here are for the "œcurrent" Robin, as he appears in the comics now.

What You Will Need:

Red Under Armor® thermal underwear (pants and long-sleeve shirt)

Black shiny material (an old black satin sheet will work well)

Yellow shiny material (again, an old satin sheet will work well) OR wide yellow belt

Yellow and black construction paper or craft foam for mask and embellishments

Black gloves

Black boots

Instructions:

Cut a "œv" into the front of the red shirt about 2" to 3" long. Cut a piece of the shiny black material and fasten it to the underside of the "œv", so that it will appear there is a black shirt underneath. Attach two strips of yellow material (with pins or craft glue) to either side of the "œv" cut.

Make the cape. Cut the black shiny material so that it hangs at about ankle-length (short enough so that it will not be a tripping hazard). Then, simply drape it about the wearer's shoulders and fasten with a pin. You can also cut two thin strips of material, one on either side of the cape, so that they can be tied together in front.

Cut two round pieces of yellow material large enough to cover the shoulders of the shirt. They should not extend past the shoulder. Fasten them to the collar of the shirt, where it meets the shirt itself, on both sides.

Use the rest of the yellow material to make the belt and/or embellish the costume. A wide strip of material can be cut and tied around the wearer's waist. Use a piece of yellow construction paper or craft foam to make a wide oval "œbuckle".

Cut an "œR" from yellow construction or craft foam and attach it to the right breast of the shirt. Cut several strips of yellow craft foam or construction paper into 1" rectangular shapes; place them at evenly-spaced intervals down the middle of the shirt.
