How to Make Christmas Winnie the Pooh Costume
Do you have a favorite Disney character? Perhaps you have a Looney Toons or other cartoon favorite? I have to admit I am a Winnie the Pooh fan, which is where I got my inspiration for a Christmas Winnie the Pooh costume. Of course this idea can be translated into any favorite cartoon character you may have such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy, or even Tweety Bird.
* Yellow Fabric
* Winnie the Pooh or Bear pattern
* Red and Green Scarf
* Red Shirt
* White Cotton
* Santa Hat
Step 1: Shop at www.joann.com, www.discountfabrics.com, or another favored fabric store. You should be able to pick up the fabric, pattern, and cotton you need for the Christmas Winnie the Pooh costume. You might also want a little bunting to help pad the costume. The fabric should be fleece or plush so that it is soft like bear fur.
Step 2: By following the pattern you should get the rounded body of Winnie the Pooh, along with hands and feet. The pattern should also help you create the ears for the costume. You should either create yellow rounded ears as a hood or on a headband. Your face can be used for the Winnie the Pooh face.
Step 3: For the bear face you will need makeup. You will need to darken your eyebrows to black, unless they already are. You also need a black button nose.
Step 4: After the main part of the costume is completed and your face is prepared you can start to dress your Winnie the Pooh. The red shirt needs to have long sleeves and have cotton around the neck, wrists, and trim on the bottom of the shirt.
Step 5: Next wrap the green and red scarf around your neck.
Step 6: To finish the look at the Santa hat. You have a couple of choices here. You can go with the red cap that has cotton around the rim and a cotton ball on the end. You could also go for a different Santa hat like elf ears or Rudolf antlers.
You might not want to forget your gift bag, complete with a
honey jar and of course Pooh’s best pal- Piglet.
