How to make Christmas Angels costumes?
Christmas Angels are an integral part of the Nativity scene. A Christmas pageant often has angels, which means this is the perfect time to get out your sewing kit and begin to create an angel. We have plenty of steps and materials needed to create an angel below. The angel can be made in a variety of ways, but we will offer one the simplest.
* White fabric
* Gold or silver circlet
* Sturdy florist wire
* Sheer white fabric
Step 1: For the main part of the angel costume you should be able to find a pattern. It is a typical dress, which means any dress pattern with long sleeves will work. You can be as inventive with the dress as you like or simple. In other words the dress can be more like a robe.
Step 2: The wings are going to be the most involved part of the costume. For the wings you can create your own pattern. Many costume makers love creating their own pattern rather than using one they find in the store. Once the pattern is traced on the fabric you are ready to start moulding the wings. The material should be a little longer than your actual wing size to help you get the material wrapped around the florist wire. The florist wire is going to lend strength to the wing shape. After the wings have been created you need to sew two pieces of elastic for the arm holes. This is how the wings will be attached to the person.
Step 3: The circlet can act as a halo. It will lay on the head rather than rising above, but it is more secure than your other option. Many find the circlet to be more comfortable.
Step 4: The last step is putting on some sandals and winging your way to your engagement.
