##Instructions:##

There are a few different sailors like those dressing in black pants rather than white, or an entirely blue costume or black costume. For our purposes we have gone with the white outfit.

Step1: In this first step you need to find white pants that are not too tight. They will be a little bell shaped at the cuffs. They will also have a high waist, typically with four buttons on the front. You may also want the cuffs to be turned up at least once.

Step 2: To make the shirt you will need a pattern and some white material. The shirt should be passed the waist to the top of the thighs. It should also be a straight A-line design. The shirt sleeves will also need to be long with a cuff at the bottom. You might use a dress shirt in this case with a few changes. The top of the shirt needs to have the sailor style collar. This is a wide collar that has a square patch of material in the back and a V style in the front. Then around the collar is the blue handkerchief as a tie.

Step 3: To finish the costume you need a white cap or Beret style and white shoes. The white shoes should be boat shoes.
