How to make a Madagascar costume?

Madagascar was a highly popular kid’s movie that was released a couple of years ago. In 2008 the movie companies released a Madagascar 2. Madagascar has several different characters to choose from. You have the lion, penguins, a giraffe, and even a hippo. To dress as Madagascar you first need to select what character you want to go as. After all you even have a zebra to choose from. We are going to look at the Giraffe costume in this how to, but remember with a few material changes you can have any of the Madagascar characters.

##Materials Needed:##

* Yellow and tan spotted fabric

* Tan fabric

* Fuzzy black fabric

* Sewing machine

* Pattern

##Instructions:##

Step 1: A pattern will be the simplest way to get the Giraffe costume made. On a Giraffe the neck will be extremely long, with a tail and hooves. The main body of the giraffe will be the yellow and tan spotted material. In fact you could use this material for the entire costume, including the head.

Step 2: The tan fabric can then be sewn on over the stomach area of the giraffe costume and used inside the ears on the head.

Step 3: The yellow and tan fabric will also be used for the tail. In the tail you might want cotton stuffing to make it a bit stiff. At the end of the tail you need the fuzzy black material. It should be like fur and cut in strips. This same material will also go on the horns you create for the head.

Step 4: Lastly you need hooves. The hooves can be made with the fuzzy black material on the top. You don’t have to worry about giving the hooves the appropriate shape, instead they can just be more round.
