How to make a Football costume?

There are several ways you can create a football costume. You can actually wear the gear or have your favorite team shirts on. However, our way to create a football costume takes a little more imagination, and definitely offers more fun in the process of creating it. Football is such a large part of Thanksgiving Day that this idea may be the perfect option for your party.

##Materials Needed:##

* Brown fabric

* Sturdy florists wire

* White shoelaces

* Pattern

* Sewing machine

* Brown face paint

* glue

##Instructions:##

Step 1: You will either purchase a pattern in the shape of a football large enough for yourself or create the costume from scratch. The pattern, if you can find one will have you make a place for your arms, legs, and face to protrude from the football costume. The football should actually go over the head to create the conical end.

Step 2: Once you have cut out the football shape you will need to cut the sturdy florist wire into the football shape.

Step 3: You will then position the florist wire on the edges of the football shape. This will give the football its shape. You can either glue the wire to the costume or sew it with the machine.

Step 4: The next step would be positioning the shoelaces to form the laces of the football. You probably want the laces on the front of the costume, so you are easily recognized as a football.

Step 5: You need to apply the brown face paint to complete the look.

Another addition you can make to your costume is the white stripes. Some footballs have a white stripe on either end, on the top of the football. They would end at the side seams. You can also add a logo such as NFL or your favorite team to the back or to the side of the laces to be trademarked.
