How to Create a Starscream (Transformers 2) Costume
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen will be blasting on screen June 24th, 2009. The studio just released a new trailer for their fans. With all the enticement the new movie is offering us we felt you might need a top level how to on how to create one of the Decepticons. Starscream when he is not looking like a Decepticon is an F-15 fighter jet. He has the ability to blend in with the good guys and create a lot of havoc.
We are going to make a Starscream costume based on the fighter jet. For this you might also need to find a poster sized or larger picture of a fighter jet. Check out www.discountfabric.com for the fabric you will need.
Step 1: To begin you should cut out a cardboard box in the style of the fighter jet. You can elect to do this in two pieces or one. The idea is that the fighter jet will sit horizontal to your body. So you need the cardboard to sit around your waist. The tail end of the plane will be behind you.
Step 2: You will need to paint the cardboard black and silver or take the fabric you find to give it a better finish. You will definitely need some red paint to give your fighter jet a bit of an evil eye!
Step 3: Sturdy florist wire will help keep the costume up right. You will want to run the florist wire so that it can also go over your shoulders to hold the plane on.
Step 4: Once the plane has been finished and you have a way to attach it you need to work on your jumpsuit. You can either make a black and silver jumpsuit or find one in a thrift store. Either way you should be hiding your body so that it blends with the plane’s colors.
Step 5: The last step is to camouflage your face with makeup.
As Starscream you are ready to find the autobots, especially Optimus Prime.
