How to Create a Modern Pilgrim Costume

As the days grow closer to Halloween it is with certain knowledge that we will need Thanksgiving costumes next. Each year schools put on plays regarding the day of Thanks to teach us the lesson and history of North America’s past. This year if you are tired of seeing the same old pilgrim costume we may have one for you. This modern pilgrim has gotten a few updates to his look!

Materials Needed:

• Black Pants
• White Socks
• Black Shirt with White Collar
• Black Hat
• Black Dress Shoes with Buckles
• Black Belt with Buckle

Instructions:

Now I know that the materials needed sound like the same old pilgrim, but once we delve into how to put this costume together you will see the difference.

Step 1: To begin you will need to find the right black pants. These pants are sold in most stores, you see kids wearing them all the time. That’s right we are bringing the baggy pants style into our pilgrim costume. You need to find a pair of baggy pants that are so low they are almost falling off.

Step 2: For this step you had better find that black belt with gold buckle to hold up the baggy pants.

Step 3: The shirt will have to be just right, so you may need to pick up some white material for the collar and cuffs. For the shirt it needs to button down with long sleeves. The collar should be rather square and the cuffs should be wide. For the length of the shirt you just need it to be regular. Do not worry about going a little long!

Step 4: The hat you choose can remain regular pilgrim in style with its round brim and puritan looks.

Step 5: The shoes can be any black dress shoes, as long as you have those fake gold buckles to enhance the Modern Pilgrim look!
