The ragin' Cajun, Remy LeBeau is better known by his mutant nickname, Gambit. His mutant power is the ability to harness and manipulate kinetic energy. A bit of a wagering man, Gambit is known for charging playing cards with energy and hurling them at his enemy. Additionally, (and much like Napoleon Dynamite), he's pretty good with a bo staff. Before he became one of the X-Men, Gambit had a shady past, some of which is touched upon in the new "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" movie in which he's played by actor Taylor Kitsch.
Dress up as the film version of Gambit with these simple tips for putting together a great costume. Just brush up on your Cajun accent before going out!
Step 1: Put on your long, shoulder length brown wig. If the wig isn't shoulder length, pick up a long brown wig and cut it to your desired length. Gambit's hair, actually, is slightly above his shoulders in more of a longer, masculine style, so you may want to bust out the scissors anyway.
Step 2: Put on a satin purple button down shirt. You can find these at discount men's stores. Put on a plain black vest over it. If you can't find a purple satin shirt, pick up a t-shirt in a deep, royal blue color that will do nicely, too.
Step 3: Put on a pair of black pants or black jeans. Wear a pair of black boots in any style beneath them.
Step 4: Nothing says tough like a long, leather trench. A pleather trench can be picked up cheaply if you don't have a long, black leather one as the perfect piece for your Gambit costume.
Step 5: Carry a deck of playing cards and flip them around from time to time, a signature trait of Gambit. If you do have a black pleather trench that is inexpensive, you can glue or tape some of them to your jacket in a random pattern to give your costume more "character", giving the illusion of kinetically charged cards.
Step 6: Pick up a toy bo staff as the finishing touch on your Gambit costume!
