How to Create Ozymandias Costume (Watchmen)

Ozymandias, was once known as Adrian Veidt. Since his past is linked to that of Alexander the Great and the Romans you will find his costume is patterned after that time in history. Ozymandias is perhaps one of the more arrogant characters from the Watchmen comics as well as in full control of physical and mental well being. Children and adults have always found comics to be entertaining and somewhat educational. With the movie coming out soon based on the comics this is the time to start creating your own version of Ozymandias.

Materials Needed:

• Black pants

• Black long sleeved shirt

• Gold fabric

• Maroon fabric

• Black fabric

• Sewing Machine

Instructions:

Step 1: Finding fabric is not very difficult. There are a number of online stores that carry discounted fabric like Fabric Warehouse Outlet at www.fashionfabricsclub.com. www.fabricdepot.com is another great place to find sewing items and fabric.

Step 2: After finding the fabric you will have to decide if you need a pattern to create the cape, armor, and belt of the costume. First off the armor should be made because you can tie the cape to the armor. You will need arm bands for the forearm. You will also need two pieces of armor for the upper arm- one cylindrical piece, and then a piece for closer to the shoulder. Armor also needs to be placed on the shins. The armor is made from the golf fabric.

Step 3: The maroon fabric will create the cape, and the boot coverings. So to the shin armor you need to attach maroon fabric that will layover whatever shoes you choose. The cape will need to be mid shin length. Once made it can attach to the upper arm armor.

Step 4: Before you are done with the maroon and gold fabric you will need two belts. The maroon should sit below your hips in an armor style, with the gold as the actual belt.

Step 5: The last step before dressing is the black fabric. You will need a mask to cover the eyes. You can also purchase a black mask if you wish.

All you have to do now is dress in the various pieces of the costume, and you will be ready to go to your costume party!
