Step 2: To circumvent the need for a lot of green fabric you can make the Grinch more Santa like. In other words you can create the legs and hands of the Grinch, with a little furry chest hair. Then over this part of the costume you have the full Santa get up with hat. This helps you get the form you need, without the need for a pattern.
