How to make a Spike (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) Costume

Even though Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been dead and buried from primetime scheduling for several years now, the fandom still survives! Craft yourself a great costume based on Spike, one of only two vampires with a soul, and who bears a striking resemblence to Billy Idol. Formerly known as William the Bloody (for his "bloody awful" poetry), Spike was initially a thorn in Buffy's side before becoming her paramour.

Make a great couples' costume with a homemade Buffy costume of your own, or Spike's ex, the slightly batty vampiress Drusilla, his not-so-better half that made them "The Sid and Nancy of the Undead."

Things You'll Need

Putting together your Spike costume

Step 1: Put on your blonde Billy Idol wig. Use a little bit of hair gel to slick it back, Spike style.

Step 2: Put on your black t-shirt and jeans. Wear the red longsleeved shirt over it, leaving it open. Swing on the ol' floor length leather coat over it.

Step 3: If you're kicking it into vamp mode, apply the (optional) prosthetic vampire makeup. If not, just put in your fangs with either removable ones or the temporary glue-in versions.

You'll be ready to roll with a soul in no time!
